Awana award night

Cars and bad weekend!

Well...our weekend was a rough one! Friday, despite our

house situation we decided to make the trip to GJ

for Laura's (Jake's mom) surprise birthday party and mothers

day. We left about 9:00 pm Friday night to head over and

started going up the hill to Eisenhower tunnel and our

car died. I am very sad because of all the memories we

have in this car! Marriage, college, all the babies, road trips,

and everything in between.

We had to tow the car to Georgetown and now it is sitting there.

We cleaned out all the stuff and it was so sad for me!

I really mourned for this poor car.

I am now a mini van momma...like the rest of America.
This is a true upgrade for the family, it had the
DVD package and everything!

May 7, 2009 @ 8:03 p.m.

This is what we came home to last night. Jake and I with

the children were at a Bible study last night and got home

about 9:20 p.m. Apparently a 17 year old boy was driving

south down Garrison and went to light a cigarette, when he looked up

he saw a car stoped to turn right onto Monticello and he swerved to

miss and drove right through our yard. As you can see he went in on

one end and came out the other taking out fence, shrubs,

a light pole and our three beautiful trees with him.

I am really having a hard time with even the

thought of letting the children go back there now!

I know Gods hand was in this because it happened at probably

the best time it could. Had we be home I know we would

have been back there playing, and Jake has been spending

allot of time with the sprinklers back there. I just

am praying for God to use this for the good and he has

a plan we just can't see yet. I guess the good thing is

we will hopefully get a new fence out of it!

Jake is installing our automated system!!! We are sooo excited

about this and can't wait to get it done to save

ourselves hundreds of hours through the summer.

He has never done this before but like all other

house projects he researches it and jumps right in. I am sure

being a engineer helps with the planning and layout!
Daniel and his wife Sarah were in town this weekend

so Jake put him to work.
